Toyota Indonesia once again winning the Primaniyarta Award
Consistently maintaining the position of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturing Export Base
Jakarta - PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) winning the prestigious appreciation of Primaniyarta Award 2016 from the Ministry of Trade Republic of Indonesia, which is the 7th time in the category of Exporter Performance. Primaniyarta 2016 is presented by President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, who was accompanied by Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita to the Senior Director of TMMIN, Edward Otto Kanter in the opening of the Trade Expo 2016 in Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Kemayoran, Jakarta, Wednesday (12 / 10).
"We are very pleased to re-gain the appreciation of the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Trade on the export performance of Toyota Indonesia that is stable and growing. Hopefully, we can contribute to the performance of exports in order to increase the non-commodity exports that support the addition of foreign exchange. Definitely , the export activity that resulting this award could not be achieve without the support of all parties, especially the Government of Indonesia that provides a variety of facilities, infrastructure and regulations, "said Edward Otto Kanter after the event.
Primaniyarta award has been obtained by TMMIN since 2008, 2010, 2011 and respectively - has received four times since the year 2013 until 2016. The recognition achievement on the export performance of TMMIN also confirmed by Bank Indonesia in December last year with the award for "Best Company that reporting Foreign exchange from Export Result" "with the record of Toyota export value amount to $ 2 billion and accumulated more than $ 15 billion.
TMMIN as the only vehicle manufacturer's that achieve Primaniyarta award this year, managed to increase the export variant of complete vehicle of Toyota from 8 model consisting of Kijang Innova, Fortuner, Vios, Yaris, Avanza, Rush, Town / Lite Ace, and Agya, has come to 9 models with the start of Sienta that will be exported to several countries in Asia. These hero products for export are manufactured in the Toyota factory and its group in Indonesia with the support of human resource capabilities that has a global class.
In addition to adding products export in the form of a complete built-up vehicle, TMMIN also started exporting gasoline and ethanol R-NR engine type that has just started production in March 2016 last month. This exports have completed the line-up of petrol and ethanol type TR-K.
TMMIN also export completely knock-down vehicles, the vehicle components as well as production in the form of jigs tools (tools for the welding process), and dies (tools for the pressing process), which also shows the depth of TMMIN industry.
Flashback Journey of TMMIN Export
The achievement of TMMIN as automotive manufacturing industry in Indonesia is not achieved with short time. Starting as an importer in the 70s, is now slowly becoming TMMIN production and export base since 2004 and aspires to become the supply chain for Toyota globally. The addition of the product and the presence of a new engine plant in Karawang is the realization of Toyota's commitment to continue to grow with the Indonesian community at the same time play an active role in the development of the national automotive industry.
TMMIN export activities started in 1987 by sending the 3rd generation of Toyota Kijang (Kijang Super) to Brunei Darussalam. TMMIN best export momentum gained when it is trusted to be one of the production bases for the development of IMV vehicles (Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle) models of KIjang Innova in 2004, and direct exports in the same year.
Throughout 2016 to September, TMMIN has recorded the exports of CBU approximately by 123.700 units, as many as 34,500 CKD units, the gasoline engine is more than 90.300 units, ethanol engines by more than 16,200 units, and vehicle components around 64.7 million pieces. These export products have been shipped to more than 80 countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and the Middle East.
Local Products gets favored in the Global Market
"Since the last few years we try to show the performance of exports that could contribute to the development of Indonesia's automotive industry. Currently the average volume of exports of completely built uo vehicles from Toyota factory and its group in Indonesia has reached 12,000 units per month and the average volume of exports of machinery / CKD / components as many as 750 container (FEU) per month. The increase in export volume as well as our Toyota vehicles is accompanied by the increasing use of domestic components, so that the products we produce not only has a global quality but also loaded with local content "said Edward.
To support and strengthen the domestic auto industry, TMMIN has fully strive to make the localization of products or increase the local content. Products such as the Toyota Kijang Innova has a local content level up to 85%, while new products like Sienta already reached 80%, 75% on Fortuner and Vios, Yaris, and Etios Valco has a local content of 60%. The improvement can not be obtained without the presence and support by the existence of local suppliers. Until 2016, there were 139 first-tier local suppliers who support the activities of the TMMIN factory production.
