Planting 10,000 trees in Mangrove Sights Surabaya

Surabaya – Toyota Indonesia performed the planting handover of 10,000 trees in Surabaya’s mangrove sights to The Departement of Agriculture of Surabaya on Friday, April 15 2016. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Djustamadji, as the head of the Departement of Agriculture of Surabaya and Mr. Adjie Sapta as the General Manager of CSR TMMIN.

As one of the real movement of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, since 2002 Toyota Indonesia has been conducting Toyota Forest activity, which is planting trees in various regions in Indonesia. The improvement of the city parks in North Jakarta region by planting 2.200 trees and the restoration of the city parks in Central Jakarta by planting 50 trees are a line of evidences of the activity of Toyota Indonesia that cares about the preservation of the environment.

Mr. Adjie Sapta revealed that this time, Toyota Forest began to spread their programs to the conservation of Java island’s northern coast. The mangrove planting in this region was done by the reason of how mangroves, as plants that easily grows, can also absorb the carbon elements on the air and foster biodiversity. The mangrove planting itself, was able to bring a highly positive impact on the environment, especially on the north coast of Java.

Through all the activities that Toyota Forest has done consistently and continuously, Toyota Indonesia hopes to inspire people to protect the environment, so that the positive impact of the preservation of the environment in Indonesia can be more perceived.
